Made-to-order & pre-order

What does made-to-order actually mean?

Your pair begins the day you order it — not before. Every Julia and Louise is cut, lined, stitched, and finished only after you choose your shade and size. Three to four weeks of work, by hand, in Oliveira de Azeméis.

What's the difference between made-to-order and pre-order?

Made-to-order is how we make every pair — there's no warehouse, no stock waiting.

Pre-order is a window we open for new shades, at launch price (15% below regular). After the batch closes, the shade moves to regular price and joins made-to-order.

Why three to four weeks?

Because that's how long it takes to do well. Cutting, lining, stitching, lasting, finishing — each step by hand. We could be faster. We choose not to be.

Can I change or cancel my order?

Yes, within 24 hours of placing it — before we start cutting the leather. Email orders@tuas-studio.com with your order number.

When will my pre-order ship?

Within the launch window stated on the product page. You'll see an estimated ship date at checkout and receive a tracking email the day it leaves.

Sizing & fit

Do TUAS run true to size?

Yes. Most customers choose their usual European size and find the fit comfortable from day one.

I'm between sizes — what should I do?

If you’re between sizes, we generally recommend sizing up. If you’re unsure, send us a message and we’ll happily advise based on your measurements.

How is Julia’s fit different from Louise’s?

Julia has a slightly more structured fit through the front of the foot. Louise offers a softer, more flexible feel thanks to its construction.

Both styles are designed for all-day comfort, but if you’re deciding between the two, we’re always happy to help.

How do I know which size matches my foot?

Measure your foot (our quick guide is here), then match it to the internal length in our Size Guide. Choose the length closest to your foot, or slightly longer if you prefer extra room.

What if the size isn’t right?

Your first size exchange is on us. If your pair doesn’t fit quite as expected, we’ll help you find the right size with as little hassle as possible.

Orders & payment

What payment methods do you accept?

We accept all major credit and debit cards, PayPal, Apple Pay, Google Pay, Klarna, MBWay, Bizum and other payment methods available at checkout.

Do you offer installments?

Yes — Klarna at checkout, three interest-free payments.

I haven’t received my confirmation email. What should I do?

Please check your spam or promotions folder first. If you still can’t find it, contact us and we’ll be happy to confirm your order details.

How can I contact you about my order?

Shipping

Where do you ship?

We currently ship across most European countries. We are working to expand our locations, but, at the moment, we do not ship outside Europe.

Is shipping free?

Yes. We offer complimentary shipping on all orders within Europe. Full breakdown on the Shipping page.

How will I know when my pair ships?

You'll receive a tracking email the day it leaves the atelier in Porto.

What about taxes, customs and duties?

For UK, Switzerland, Norway and Iceland customs charges and taxes are paid on delivery — set by local regulations and not included in your order total.

Returns & exchanges

How do returns work for made-to-order?

Same as any return. Fifteen days from the day your pair arrives. Free shipping on the first exchange.

What does “first exchange on us” mean?

If the size isn't right, we send the new one and pay the return. Once per order — because the first try should be safe.

Can I return a pre-order?

Yes. Same fifteen-day window, from the day your pair arrives. You keep the launch discount on the refund.

Care

How do I clean my TUAS?

Soft, dry cloth for daily care. For marks, a barely-damp cloth and patience. Avoid rain — lambskin doesn't love water.

Can I waterproof them?

Yes — leather conditioner safe for lambskin. Apply lightly before first wear, then every few months.

Can TUAS shoes be repaired?

Our shoes are made to be worn and loved for years. Many signs of wear can be addressed by a trusted local cobbler, helping extend the life of your pair.
